How does Kii Ring work?
Just double-click the "Call Me" icon. The icon will flip over, revealing a simple form, which you will complete as follows:
Name: Use your real name, nickname, alias, whatever.
Phone number: This is the number you want us to call right now. If you're at home, give us your home number. If you're at work, give us your work number. If you want to use your cell phone, give us your cell number. The number you type in here is the number that we'll call.
Private: If you want our Caller ID to recognize you, uncheck this box.
Submit: When you've completed the form, click the "Call Me" button in the lower right-hand corner to submit your contact information, and the Kii Operator will call you.
How soon will he call?
The Kii Operator will connect the call immediately. Your phone will ring within a few seconds. When you pick it up, the line will probably be ringing. Wait for the Kii Operator to come on the line.
Is the Kii Operator always a "he"?
Yes, and he's always a member of the Knights of Columbus. However, if your call can't be taken right away, you may receive a voice recording from a female or other non-Knight.
What happens if the Kii Operator is busy with another call or is otherwise unavailable?
After a few seconds, the ringing will stop, and you'll be connected to voicemail. Leave a message, and tell us how and when you would like us to contact you.
Is this service available 24/7?
Yes. Call anytime, 24/7. Different Kii Operators take the calls at different times of the day. Your call will never wake a sleeping Knight.
This is great, but how much is it going to cost me?
It's free. When you click the "Call Me" button, the Kii Operator places a direct call to your phone, so there is never a charge at your end.
Can I reach the Kii Operator with a non-U.S. phone?
Not yet, but we're working on setting up international (and foreign-language-supported) lines in the many countries where the Knights of Columbus exists.
What can the Kii operator do for me?
He can listen to your suggestions, complaints, and compliments; answer questions about the Knights of Columbus; provide Kii technical support; patch your call through to other Knights; and more.
When I'm not at my computer, is there a way I can call the Kii Operator directly?
Yes, just dial 1–307–271–Kii–0 (that's a zero at the end). If you do so, the call may be billed as a regular long-distance call to Powell, Wyoming.
How can I become a Kii Operator, too?
If you'd like to serve as a volunteer Kii Operator via your own home or cell phone, e-mail or call us. Tell us which hours of the day and which days of the week you'd be available to take calls. We're working on getting this line staffed 24 hours a day and in several languages (at least English, French Canadian, Polish, Latin-American dialects of Spanish, and Tagalog).
